About the Mifegest kit Texas
Mifegest Kit Texas belongs to a group of gynecological medicines called ‘abortifacients’, used for medical termination of pregnancy before 63 days after the first day of the last menstrual period. Mifegest Kit is also effective in the second trimester of pregnancy.
Mifegest Kit (Abortion Pills: Mifepristone and Misoprostol) contains two drugs namely mifepristone and misoprostol. Mifepristone is an antihormone (antiprogestin) that blocks the action of the hormone progesterone, which is necessary in women for pregnancy to continue. On the other hand, misoprostol is a prostaglandin that enhances the contraction of the womb (uterus) and dilates the cervix, thereby excluding pregnancy. Thus, Mifegest Kit causes abortion together and must be used sequentially for medical abortion.
A medical abortion usually involves 2-3 visits to a doctor or clinic, which include administering medication and confirming the abortion. Below is the medical abortion plan:
Day 1: Medical consultation and examination, during which the doctor prescribes you to take one tablet of mifepristone (200 mcg).
Day 2 to 3: You must return to the hospital/clinic 36 to 48 hours after taking the first mifepristone dose. Your doctor will inform you about this. The misoprostol tablet (800 mcg) is now administered either orally or vaginally.
Day 7 to 14: The doctor will confirm and ensure whether the medical abortion is complete or not. If the termination of pregnancy is not complete, further follow-up examinations may be necessary.
In some cases, nausea, uterine cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, infection after an abortion, dizziness, and uterine bleeding may occur. Most of these Mifegest Kit side effects will subside over time. However, if the vaginal bleeding does not stop, please see a doctor immediately as it requires immediate medical attention.
Mifegest Kit should not be stopped abruptly without consulting the doctor, as this can lead to an incomplete abortion. Before starting Mifegest Kit, tell your doctor if you have had an ectopic pregnancy (when the uterus grows into the fallopian tube), are using an intrauterine device, are breast-feeding, have a bleeding disorder, or have a heart problem. Avoid strenuous activity like running, heavy exercise, or driving to prevent excessive bleeding. The doctor will also use an ultrasound to check that absorption is complete, as no bleeding means the termination of pregnancy is not complete.
With the Mifegest kit
Mifegest Kit contains mifepristone and misoprostol. Mifepristone works by blocking the action of progesterone (female hormone) needed to maintain a pregnancy. In the absence of progesterone, like every month during the menstrual cycle, the lining of the uterus breaks down and the growth of the pregnancy is halted. It takes about 24-48 hours for Mifegest Kit to work. Once it starts to work, uterine bleeding occurs. But no uterine bleeding does not mean that the abortion is complete. On the other hand, the second drug is misoprostol, a prostaglandin analogue that helps increase uterine contractions and relax the cervix. This is how the Together Mifegest Kit ends the state of pregnancy. Misoprostol should be taken either orally or vaginally at least 24-36 hours after taking mifepristone. This is a non-surgical method that is 90% successful.
